Is a Wedding Film right for you? Hi, this is Mark, the owner of Mountain Fresh Films and honestly, the short answer is ‘YES!’ If you are reading this, I will assume you are engaged or will be engaged soon. Congratulations! Even with over seven billion people on this beautiful planet finding your soul mate is not necessarily easy. Now that you’ve found each other, what’s next?
Well, you probably have a lot of decision making and planning ahead of you. One of the many things to consider is whether or not to have a professional wedding film made for you. I could easily quote you statistics, for instance 98% of brides who decided not to get a wedding film said that they regretted their decision. 100% of the brides that I met after their wedding (who also decided to pass on a wedding film) deeply regretted their decision. But the thing is, you’re not a statistic, you’re a person. I think this is the most important part of the equation. We’re all people and these special times in our lives are largely what makes life worth living.
We are lucky that we live in a time when it is possible to film special events (in pristine 4K Video) and preserve them in a digital format that will never deteriorate with time. Your descendents many generations in the future will be able to see what you were like as a living, breathing person, interacting with your closest friends and relatives on one of the happiest days of your life. What an amazing legacy! It wasn’t so long ago that video tape was the common format for weddings and special event films. With the passage of time, the video tape would lose all the precious moments that it had captured. There was no way of stopping this from happening. Now we can deliver your film to you Online in a format that is several times better looking than any video tape recording ever made. This is a good time to be alive!
Sometimes Wedding Couples ask me if they should just get a wedding film or if they should also get professional photographs. I strongly believe that you need both. They are both different and vitally important. I work with some very gifted photographers like Greg Zook, Nichol Davis and Jenna O’Keefe. Their work is amazing and is very complimentary to what I do as a filmmaker. Photography captures frozen moments in time, some of which we’d miss because we don’t perceive our world as static moments in time. Conversely, one of the wonderful things about video is that it captures your event exactly the way that it happened. This makes video the best way for you to be transported back in time to relive the event. Whether we’re talking about a Corporate Film or a Wedding Film, video captures the event the same way that you experience life, as a continuous flow of moments, one to the next without stopping. In a way this is the very definition of what it means to be alive.
In my Blog I talk about some of the great experiences I’ve had filming at places like the Lake Arrowhead Resort, Arrowhead Pine Rose Cabins, The Marina Resort, The Gold Mountain Manor and The San Moritz Lodge. I also (hopefully without sounding too nerdy) talk about some of our New Technology and the future of film. Please take a moment to explore my Blog and feel free to share your comments and thoughts, I’d love to hear from you!
In addition to my Blog I’ve included Information About Myself as well as Video Testimonials and Written Testimonials. My goal is to give you a context in which to consider my services and what I have to offer you.
Let me share with you my ideology and how I work. I think, first and foremost, your Wedding Day is about you and your sweetheart. It’s about the two of you having a wonderful, meaningful day surrounded by your most cherished loved ones. I always keep this in mind while working with you. I will never pose you, stage any moments or ask you to repeat anything. This is because I don’t ever want to interrupt the natural flow of your day (or your enjoyment.) My way of shooting allows you to truly have fun at your wedding and also guarantees that the moments captured are authentic and heartfelt. This makes for a much more impactful Wedding Film. I also shoot your ceremony in it’s entirety. Of course you can choose various Add-ons like a Highlights Film, which would be a shorter version of your Wedding Movie. The nice thing is that, depending on Which Package you choose, my team will be shooting the majority if not all of your wedding day.
There are many different Wedding Packages available ranging from my 4 hour ‘Excellent’ Package to my 12 hour ‘Awesome’ Package. How do you decide which package is right for you? Well, there is strength in numbers and my 8 hour ‘Captivating’ Package is by far my most popular. It allows me to shoot some of your preparation, your entire ceremony and the majority (if not all) of the special segments of your reception. It’s one of my most comprehensive packages and seems to be the perfect fit for the majority of my clients. Sometimes, however, things are a little more complicated (in a good way.) For instance, sometimes a couple is getting ready at one location, getting married at a second location and maybe even having the reception at a third location. In a situation like this I usually recommend my 10 hour ‘Beautiful’ Package or my 12 hour ‘Awesome’ Package. This allows extra time for packing up the equipment, driving to the next location and setting up the cameras. The more footage we shoot, the more footage we have and the more inclusive your wedding movie becomes. It’s a special day, it will never be repeated and I treat it accordingly.
As I mentioned earlier, in addition to Wedding Packages I’ve also created Add-ons based on what most couples told me they were looking for in a Wedding Film. Optional Add-on include things like alternate cuts of your wedding movie like the Feature Film Cut. I also offer the less conventional Trash The Dress Film. Some Add-ons are designed to make your life easier like my Online Delivery Service.
Between my Wedding Packages and available Add-ons I’m confident that we can meet your needs.
This, of course, brings us back to where we started. The question being ‘Is a Wedding Film right for you?’
Together, we know some things. We know your upcoming wedding is one of the most important days of your life so far. We know that this day will never be repeated. We know that on this day you will be surrounded by some very important people in your life. We know that, no matter how hard we try, it is very difficult to remember things the way that they actually happened. This is especially true with the passage of time. We know that we have the technology to preserve this unique and special day in your life exactly as it happened. This technology will not decay and will help supplement your precious memories. It will continue on into the future to provide joy and an understanding of you to your descendents.
The long answer to the question: ‘Is a Wedding Film right for you?’ is also ‘Yes!’
